Been to the newly opened Tashan in the busy market of GK2 with few of my friends on a rainy evening. Tashan is a fine dining place with a very dignified and artistic ambiance. Lovely interiors and comfortable seating makes it a good choice for friends meetup and family outings. Being a whisky lover, I started with Whisky Sour – A whisky based drink with pineapple juice. Amazingly good with a smooth taste and perfect combination of whisky and juice. Tried few other drinks which includes Tom Collins – a gin and lime based drink.
This place has a very limited menu but the preparations are just perfect in taste. They serve different flavors of rasam named as Rasam da Tashan which includes Pepper, Pineapple and Thai out of which I loved the pineapple twist in rasam. They have an interesting menu for snacks. Tried the Tandoori Gobhi with smoked lassi (Gobhi with achari and spicy flavors), baingan ki chaat (crispy fried baingan with chaat) and soya tacos (Indian pancakes with minced soya, tomato salsa, cheese fondue, sour cream and coconut chutney). Full marks to “Tashan” for this amazing food presentation. In non veg starters, we tried stuffed tangri (with couscous, caper and goat cheese) and thyme chicken tikka. Both of these were delicious and very well prepared.
In main course we tried the peshawari dal which was cooked to perfection. Trio of arbi was another hit in their menu. Paneer hungama had a gravy full of flavors and aroma. Lemongrass butter chicken and chettinad Chicken were too good. Freshly baked pudina parantha was feather in cap in this lovely treat. Now coming to desserts, bhuni roti ka halwa was amazing. Halwa with less sugar and lovely texture can definitely make its room in anyone stomach after such a heavy meal.
Not to forget – I loved their exceptionally good service. This is definitely one of the best fine dining place i can recommend to my friends and fellow foodies in town.
