Coriander Leaf is one of the best places in Gurugram serving the mughlai and pakistani cuisine. Located very near to the MG road metro station at the ground floor of the vatika triangle building – This place is a must try for the ones who adores pakistani food. There is an acclaimed saying “Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya, O Jamyai Nai” which means “who has not seen Lahore, he hasn’t born” But the fortes in Coriander leaf will take you for a voyage through roads in pakistan.
This place offers a serene ambiance with the beautiful small water bodies outside the restaurant. Pleasant and comfortable seating along with the sufi music calms all the anxiety with the goal that one can appreciate the grand sustenance.
I have been to this spot with my family on a weekday for dinner.Dim lights along with soft music makes this place a perfect choice to spend time with your friends and family. Aam Panna served as welcome drink was reviving and with this we started with the tandoori specialties from the menu curated by head-chef Mr Rakesh Kaul who has a vast experience in mughlai and pakistani cuisine. The menu looked very intriguing to me as there were couple of creative dishes I could see. I attempted the red wine Sangria from the cocktail section – An exquisite beverage with chopped green apple and it was astounding.
Surkh Murg Tikka Islamabad – Boneless Chicken Kebabs coated with freshly ground red chilies, yogurt and lemon juice grilled in tandoor. Consummately arranged with right blend of flavors. Adored each bite of this stunning preparation.
Pasrur Malai Tikka – Chicken Kebab lapped in velvety cheese, coriander and lemon juice was a treat for my taste buds. This had a perfect taste and was loaded with flavors.
Pathar ke Kebab – Mutton escalopes marinated with traditional spices and singed over red-hot granite stone. This specialty from the kitchen of Nizam of Hyderabad was sublime.
Galouti Kebab – The velvety melt-in-mouth kebabs originated from the Awadh and marinated with authentic spices are one of the best I had till date. I had it before from numerous places (“Tundey Kebab is well known for same and has outlets in Gurugram) But these delicate kebabs were simply wonderful. Expertly grilled on tawa with the smoked clove flavor has given it an impeccable taste.
Kurkure Khumb – Crunchy mushroon caps stuffed with melting cheese coated with corn flour was astonishing. Exceptionally crunchy and had an extremely decent flavor.
Malai Broccoli and Degi Mirch ka Paneer Tikka were another hits from this spot. The main course has a vast menu with lot of options from Kashmiri and Pakistani cuisine. Chooza Makhni which is Butter Chicken with Coriander Leaf touch was lip smacking. I have tasted Nihari from this place which had well cooked mutton and it went well with the Khamiri roti. Normally Nihari is not served in most of the restaurant in Gurugram and to get the authentic taste one has to make some efforts to go the old delhi Jama Masjid area. Methi Malai Mutter is one of my favorites and this place didn’t baffled me with the taste. A blend of aromatic fenugreek, spinach and green peas perfectly cooked in the fresh cream and mint was excellent.
Nizami tarkari Biryani at Coriander Leaf was a flawless case of Dum cooking. When it arrived, The aroma of authentic spices was noticeable all around. What a flavorful biryani with immaculate taste.
Beetroot Ka Halwa was the one dessert I attempted at this place. The hot beetroot halwa garnished with cardamom, raisins and cashew nuts is a must try for people with sweet tooth. I delighted in this sweet so much that even after such an overwhelming feast it was disappeared from plate in 2 minutes 🙂
Service was very quick and thanks to Mr Kishore for all the hospitality. This is an ideal place to spend time with the loved ones. Good music, excellent food, elegant ambiance and great service makes this place a decent choice for fine dining in gurugram. Recommended to all fellow foodies.
