If I ask a simple question to someone that when was the last time they have been to a jungle, then I might be getting a sarcastic smile as an answer. But that sarcasm can be turned out to a reality if You are in Gurugram. Jungle Jamboree has done quite well to come up with the jungle theme restaurant in sector 29 market which has a very extraordinary and vibrant ambiance. The place has the decent seating area offering the jungle and aquatic theme where one can easily spend time with friends and family while enjoying their buffet spread.
I, along with a friend was there on an weekday evening at around 7 PM to taste their specialties from the menu. We began with the Grilled Pineapple which was mildly spiced. The flavor was awesome and we really loved it.
Dahi Poori was pretty good and the sweet curd was just perfect. I found American golden corn bucket to be bit bland, This could have been better in terms of taste.Chicken lemon coriander soup was served hot and the lemon hint in it was coming out pretty well. Gosht ki Galauti was soft and flavorful. The spices were mixed well which gave it a wonderful texture.
Chicken Dimsums were well prepared and the dips served along were really amazing. Honey chili lotus stem had a flawless mix of honey and spices and the end product was excellent.
Grilled mushrooms were fantastic and was the pick of the day. Perfectly done on the grill with right mix of spices.
The main course has some interesting items which needs a special mention here. Kurkuri bhindi which I had there was very crispy and stunning in taste. Dal makhani was well cooked and all the breads were served hot on the table.
Their mocktails needs a special mention. Jungle Jamboree which is served in the pineapple shell was amazing. Jungle spice was actually a spicy drink with a strong ginger and chili hint. Very different drink and it gets good by each sip. Apple Margarita was a stunning drink with a tangy touch. Loved it.
Desserts had many options but I tried Paan ice cream, galar ka halwa and hot gulab jamun.
Paan ice cream had the balanced paan flavor, not too sweet which is actually a good thing. Gajar ka halwa was slowly cooked and had the superb aroma and taste. Hot gulab jamun was fresh and flawless in terms of quality and flavor.
Verdict: Jungle Jamboree is a value for money place where one can enjoy the jungle and acquatic environment and at the same time have the delicious food with not much damage to the pocket. Their menu has lot of options which one can try at a very reasonable cost.
