When you hear about the massive restaurants launching a new place in NCR, the expectations are much higher. PaPaYa has done the full justice to the brand it is associated with. After setting up the name and getting the fame in Mumbai, the much talked about place is now open in Delhi. Located at the 4th floor in the lavish Select City Walk in Saket, this place serves the best of the Asian fusion food in the town. The ambiance is very lively with the high ceiling dome in the center of the place which adds the charm to this spot. The round center bar underneath the dome is the attraction and around this bar there are different seating options available in order to cater wide range of audience. Interiors are well designed keeping in mind the kind of food served in PaPaYa.
Chef Vishal Singh has done a brilliant job in curating the menu for this place. From the presentation to the flavors, everything was bang on. We stared off with the sushi matrix which was served in a very beautiful way. The wooden tree like tray had different varieties of sushi and the presentation looked very tempting. Out of the veg and non-veg options, I found Sushi Burger best suited for my palate. Grilled chicken and avacado tacos were amazing. The gyoza sheet shell was crisp and the mozzarella cheese filling was awesome.
I tried the various options in Dimsums and all were excellent. The ones with beetroot had the perfect texture and flavor which was cherished by my group. Edamame and chick pea sliders were fantastic. These were served along with homemade Potato chips. Lotus flour buns stuffed with grilled chicken pea and edamame patties topped with chili mayo was a wonderful combination for my taste buds.
The cocktails needs a special mention as I tried different options from Vodka to whiskey based drinks and all were flawless. The presentation for the cocktails was lovely.
Lamb Rendang Curry is an Indonesian slow cooked curry which was served with malabar parantha. The curry had right blend of curry powder and coconut milk which gave it a stunning flavor. The malabar parantha went really well with the curry.
Mochi Ice Cream was another dessert I attempted at PaPaYa. The outer shell had a unique taste and the ice cream inside that complements this lovely Japanese dessert.
Chocolate Ball on fire was the perfect end to this feast. The chocolate ball filled with crumbs, nuts and chocolate sauce had the hot brandy pouring on to it, which was a delight to watch. The presentation was awesome and the smokey flavor added to this dessert with the pouring brandy was actually the twist. I loved it.
Verdict: PaPaYa is a must try place if you love Asian cuisine. I had the best of the Asian food at this place. Outstanding cocktails and the delectable food is the USP here. Quirky interiors adds to the beauty and makes it a wonderful place to spend time with friends and family. Highly recommended to the foodies in town.
