Gurugram has been turned into the city of breweries where cyber hub and sector 29 are the leading places to try freshly brewed beer in the town. Located at not so crowded Star tower in sector 30, Bottles and Barrels serves the perfect craft beer. The place is huge with a lovely open area which can easily cater large groups. I have been to this brewery on a Sunday afternoon with a group of few friends. They do have an option for the live band as I could see the dedicated area for this next to the seating area. The place has been depicting its love for beer by showcasing the history of beer printed on the walls. The ambiance is very lively and the pool table along with big LED screens makes it a nice sports bar.
We began with their brews and tasted all. Pilsner lager beer and jaggery ale were the favorite for the day. Originated from North America, Jaggery Ale is a type of blonde ale which ia modern style from US craft beer revolution. The taste and texture both were amazing. Loved it.
Pilsner lager is a pale lager beer and tasted close to the bottled ones. White wine Sangria was average to me. Whisky Sour was quite good and had that balance of the sweet lime and egg white. It was just perfect.
Coming to the snacks – I tried few of their specialties. Began with Phyllo Artichoke which were fresh and crispy tarts stuffed with spinach, Mushroom and cheese. Presentation was awesome and flavor was superb. Degi Mirch ka Paneer Tikka was excellent and the taste was bang on. I liked the quality of the ingredients used in BnB.
Thai Cheese Cigar Rolls were flawless. The melted cheese stuffing has nailed it and the presentation for this lovely snack was stunning. Rajasthani Sur lal murg Tikka was well prepared with the right mix of indian spices. The taste was phenomenal and this was the pick for the day.
The different variations of Dimsums which I tried at BnB needs a special mention. The dips were excellent and veg Dimsums tasted exceptionally good.
Chelo Kebab Murg – The Iranian dish which we spotted in their menu had the perfect flavor. Soft and juicy Kebab served along with the special beetroot dip was cherished by us.
In mains we tried the Dal BnB which is their specialty. Mix of Dal Bukhara and Makhni with some twists by Chef had the unique flavor. It was served along with laccha parantha which went really well with it. We gave an end to this meal with the in-house Phirni. Not too sweet for my palate, this dessert was perfect.
Verdict: Bottles and Barrels is one of the good places in Gurugram to visit for the craft beer. Very spacious for corporate parties with a decent seating space makes it a nice option for office parties. Recommended to all the beer lovers in town.
