Street food in India has it’s own place in everyone’s heart and the craving for these chatpata flavors can make people travel to their most favorite food destinations. Old Delhi has been known for such flavors from years and Delhicacy has tried to bring these flavors to Gurugram directly from the lanes of old Delhi. Located at first floor in Galleria Market, this place serves the authentic North Indian Street food. They have tried to get the same taste and so far they have been successful in doing so. I had been here few days back with couple of friends. The place has been renovated and the interiors gives it a vintage look. Seating arrangement is decent and this place can cater 25-30 people easily at a time.
Let’s check out their food now. We began with paalak patta chat which was crispy and had the right flavor. It was garnished with Bombay’s sev and topped with chutneys and curd which tasted heavenly.
Aloo tikki was flawless and it was served well with the mint and tamarind chutney. The taste was awesome and the quality was perfect. Chhole Bhature were mind blowing. The bhature were fluffy and soft with very less oil. The quality here speaks itself and I was delighted to have the perfectly cooked chhole with Bhature and gajar ka achar.
Patile waale mutter kulche was the next thing on the table. Chatpate mutter topped with their secret masala and lemon served along with chopped onion and chilies was delectable.
Bedmi with Aloo was the pick of the day. The famous chandni chowk’s poori with daal stuffing inside served along with aloo ki subzi, Methi chutney and kachalu chaat. Taste was excellent and it was so tempting that it was finished in less than a minute. They serve raita along with it which goes really well with Bedmi.
Aloo parantha served with curd and homemade gajar and Gobi ka achar was fantastic. Loved every bite of it.We tried their shikanji which was awesome and had that “desi” hint of the masalas. Loved it. The masala chai was served in kulhad and it was fabulous.
This place is a hidden gem if we talk about the sweets. Jalebi (in desi ghee) was one of the finest I had in last few years. Crisp and not too sweet for my taste buds, this was superb. It’s a must try thing from Delhicacy.
Verdict : It is a nice option for people living in Gurugram to try the old Delhi’s flavors. The spices and the taste resembles to what we get in chandni chowk. The prices are reasonable so it’s a perfect value for money place. Recommended to all Street food lovers in Gurugram.
