Having heard mixed reviews about this place, I assumed this to be yet another barbeque place with the same grill options to be served on the table But this turned out to be a surprise. Located on the second floor of the Good Earth city mall, The Ancient Barbeque has a colossal seating area with nice seating arrangements. With a lot of options in the menu, They have some tempting packages to offer. Been there on a Sunday afternoon and it was full to its capacity. I started with the grilled apple martini which had smoked apple flavor followed by the various grilled options.
Presented on skewers, Grilled Pineapple and Mayonni Bhutta were stunning. Adored the rich flavor on the bhutta and the sweetness of the grilled pineapple. Salsa potatoes served with chopped tomatoes, onions and sour creamy sauce were quite good.
Aflatoon paneer tikka which was zesty yet lip smacking, had the right blend of the spices. Barbari Mutton Seekh was quite unique in taste. Methi Murg Tikka was well cooked and has impeccable flavors.
Chicken Shami was well presented and had the mughlai flavor which I cherished a lot. Dahi Kebab which I had at TAB was quite unique. The filling had some Indian cheese which is quite unusual for such dish, but still it was great in taste. Service was very prompt and all the things were served on time.
I attempted few of the drinks which were yet to be introduced to the menu and those were truly stunning. One of the most loved was pomegranate mojito.
After such a delightful meal, we were offered the main course. A variety of options were availabe on the spread and I have tried Dal Makhni with missi roti, Chicken Biryani and Corn Salad. Loved the Dal Makhni and missi roti. Attempted the Gulab Jamun, Moong Dal halwa, pista seviyan and chocolate cake. Truely enjoyed the seviyan and gulab Jamun. We had the live culinary session with Chef Ashish Massey there and it was a flawless end to this feast.
Its an immaculate value for money place with not much damage to the pocket. For Rs 800/- per person, its a not to miss treat. Recommended to all the fellow foodies.
